When you mod your game, you may encounter some problems like timesync issues because of FPS, broken visuals,
frequent crashes, etc. There is a whole dedicated guide already here below, but if you seem too lazy to jump
there, here's what you can do to improve your games performance, so it doesn't feel like a 2010 bug simulator.
(Of course I can't cover everything here, as it actally goes into insane detail and there's many steps to take to stablize the game.)
